  1. There is no such thing as a minimum dimension for the riders height. It purely depends what you find comfortable. Sportsbikes (eg Ducati 1098, Suzuki GSX-R etc) are cramped for just about everyone but great fun, cruisers (eg many Harleys, Yamaha Virago etc) offer a more laid back riding position that allow you to stretch a little and often have a low seat height but great fun, standard/traditional road bikes (eg Honda Hornet, Yamaha Fazer etc) offer something in between and come in all engine and frame sizes but great fun, dual purpose tourers/adventure (eg BMW GS series, KTM ADventure, Moto Guzzi Stelvio etc) tend to be phyiscally bigger bikes with taller seat heights available but great fun.

I assume you can see a common thread here.

If you want to decide purely on something that will have the physical characteristics most likely to be compatible with your height then the BMW GS, KTM (most models), Yamaha Tenere, Honda Varadero, Moto Guzzi Stelvio, Suzuki V Strom, Triumph Tiger and similar direction may be a good starting point. Also consider the big tourer Honda Gold WIng, Harley Glide, big BMW option.

I personally would not rule anything out until I tried a good mix of what appealed to me for other reasons. You could be comfortable on any kind of bike if you enjoy it enough.

  2. get a boss hoss

  3. Go sit on a bunch like the people say but you will find none fit. Most tall people don't learn how bad the ergonomics are on a factory bike until they ride for an hour. The average height in this country is 5'10" and has been for 80 years. Vehicles are built for that (sat in a Corvette lately?). If you have over a 32" inseam you will be uncomfortable on all bikes... even custom choppers that LOOK big still have the seating and peg area of a stock HD. There is only one bike that has addressed this problem and I ride one... it is stretched to the REAR to move the rider back away from handle bars and pegs. I am 6'4" and 290 and have never been this comfortable. Problem for most folk is they are more expensive than HD's- start in low 20's (they have HD motors). But at 58 I can't put a price on comfort.

  4. the answers you ve got already are good although don t just try one for size RIDE IT see how it feels then. many bikes look good and feel good until you ride it

  5. Man, I'm 6'2" and just bought a 113CI Yamaha Raider. The pegs are moved more to the front of the bike, without your legs being all the way stretched out. The bars are great for fully stretched arms. Check it out, nice bikes

  6. go and "Try a few on"

  7. Go sit on some.....and buy the one that's comfy.

  8. Get yourself a testride on a Kawasaki Versys 650. Good leg room, upright riding style and ideal for a taller rider. Best bike I have owned in 27 years of biking...

  9. go to the stealer's and sit on as many different styles as possible until you find one that is comfortable.

  10. BMW GS with lowered footpegs would be a great bike for you. I'm 6'3" and my R1150GS is really comfortable.

  11. You are just like me then, always banging My head on doorways, tree branches, etc.

You would be perfectly alright with a normal motorcycle, any make, even a moped. If you can fit on a push bike, you can fit easily on a motorcycle.
