Is there a website where I can type in the reg no of a motorbike and find out the type, engine cc of it etc.?

Depends.  Where are you located?  In the UK, yes, just run an HP check.  In the US, no, you'd need the VIN to get that information.

Yep- Assuming you are checking its details with a view to buying it,you need to get  it HPI checked.This will reveal the bikes Engine and chassis numbers,Its title (ie , if someone owes outstanding finance on it) And the bikes insurance history, (Has it ever been a write off) And how many owners-current owner. Just google seach HPI check.
