  1. How about get the fools in cars to slow down and pay attention

Age has NOTHING to do with riding ability.

Where do you buggers come up with silly stuff like this

  2. Midlife crisis buyers

    Motorcycles are not for everyone

overheard a conversation of a couple that were headed out talking of their 20 yr skills . I caught up with them several miles later on a twisty road. They road like newbies. I don't know how they made it 20 years and still rode like that.

    Notchy in the corners

hugging the centerline in the lefts

    center strip riding

  3. Dont discrimitate

You ride at your own risk

  4. The same restrictions should apply across the board. I have 2 physicals every year (complete) and I have had laser surgery on both eyes. My eyesight is warrantied and if I SHOULD  ever need more correction, it is free. Older riders can afford to have things done that younger riders ignore. I work with three guys. One is 44 and the other two are 33. I can out last them in any manner and have proved that many times. Not every rider out there is broken down after 50. When was YOUR last complete physical? I mean complete with blood screening?

  5. That would simply be because motorcycles have become more accepted and more people are riding  them. If that is the logic you use then every one under 49 can not ride larger

than a 125cc only during day light hours with a signed not from their mommy. Riding a sport bike doing insane stunts on the roads doesn't make some one a good rider it just makes them a temporary organ receptacle.

  6. I'm wondering. I've never seen an older rider doing a wheelstand on the freeway at 70MPH but seen many crotch rockets do it. I've never seen an older rider weaving in and out of rush hour traffic at obviously higher speeds but seen many younger riders doing it. So here's my thoughts. Make EVERYONE wear a helmet. Make every younger rider take a psychiatric test so they are mature enough to ride. Make every younger rider take a MSF course...twice! And limit every younger rider to 250cc's. That seem fair? Older riders do as you want and younger riders do as I want.

  7. No more laws thank you. Motorcycle accidents for every age group are on the rise. More folks riding them these days.

  8. There are a large number of older men that think they can " regain their lost youth" by buying a bike. At fifty it must be three or four times harder to develop the necessary responses you need to safely ride. All new riders need to take a motorcycle safety course. And older riders should take one every three years.

    Been riding 42 years,and I won't ride with a "newbie". They''ll get you killed!!!!

  9. i think there are alot of newbies that are over fifty right now so...

  10. Did you run out of things to bash Harleys and Harley riders about?  So now you're going to make it a personal crusade against riders over 50.  You have some real issues to work out.  What will you bash and put down next, maybe women riders, or riders with saddlebags, or riders with a tan.  Do you stay awake at nights dreaming this S--T up?  You must.

  11. wow nasty, turn on the people that have kept motorcycling alive  & made it posible for you to be able to ride a motorcycle,

  12. As a 70 year old rider, take a hike. Did you get tired of bashing HDs, Joe B, now you got to get on the old folks. I'm telling you your condition is getting worse. Did you start torturing small animals yet, or are you still in the "pee the bed stage"? Do men really read Parade magazine?

  13. As of July 1st everyone who wants to ride a motorcycle in the State of Florida must take the MSF course in order to get licensed to ride a motorcycle, this is because of younger riders and not older riders , (State Law always made anyone under 18 take the course) But because of younger riders riding wheelies ,doing excesses speed weaving in and out of traffic it has punished Every one. Here are some Ideas for those under 30

Make it a Law that no one under 30 can ride a motorcycle unless they are mature enough to Live on there own .

Make it a Law they can only buy a motorcycle if there credit makes it possible with out a cosigner

Make it a Law that they must pass a random drug test.

Make it the Law that under no circumstances can any girl under thirty years of age buy a motorcycle for a 2 week old boyfriend.

That would get a lot of the statistics down

  14. It's REENTRY riders on BIG cruisers. The 50 year old guy that walks into a dealership and buys the top of the line bike that hasn't ridden in 20 years. I have fixed at least a dozen Electraglides in the last year from reentry guys. I've seen WAY more 20 year old BEGINNERS crash Tupperware covered death rockets.

50 and NEVER LEFT!! Helmet wearer, corrected to 20/15, former MSF instructor who commutes 35,000 miles a year on bikes from 75 to 168 horsepower.

Don't make me sic AARP on your azz.

  15. I bet this is part of a general upward trend, I would also bet that the highest proportion of these casualties are returning riders, the born-again-bikers are notorious, being 50ish they probably can afford the latest tackle and, imagining that bikes haven't developed in the last 20-30 years, hop on, twist the throttle and are propelled to the horizon at speeds that were the preserve of racers 20 years ago. Insurance companies will soon be demanding that any new policies for that age-group are accompanied by physicals and courses.

  16. i reckon what's ok,leave it ok.Dont have to change anything at all. There's lots of 50 year old riders and i reckon too they are the best riders. There's zero casualties for riders 50 n above in my country-in fact they r more cautious, more responsive, more alert as far as riding is concerned. Why?Cos they dont wanna die when they have gone so far to reach  50.They wanna live another 50.I am 52 and i have been riding since 1975.I have never crashed but a dozen of my friends who are 35-40 are dead! I ride a vmax 1200.So what'cha talkin' kiddo...

  17. I think that would just as easily apply to younger riders too.  You can't single out over 50 riders for motorcycle problems.  Most of them know they aren't invincible and do wear helmets and are more conscious of safety compared to the 20 and younger set. Besides, I don't think parade is much of an authority.  They are only reporting high insurance rates and what they think would lower them, nothing else.

  18. no it means there are more of them out there.  My bigger problem is the driver's of cars that try to run bikes off the road.

some states have helmut laws for everyone not age specific unless under 18.

Physical and eye exam...all drivers need that not just riders, there are just as many idiots over 50 driving cars that shouldn't and haven't had a physical.

everyone should have taken a rider safety course before they started riding...lets make driver's ed mandatory too for car drivers..everyone seems to have forgotten the rules of the road 10 minutes after receiving their license.

nothing over 650cc--forget it!  lets say all car drivers over 50 can't drive anything bigger then a compact car!!!!!

add:  parade magazine? that in my opinion is not a reliable source of information.

There are many people, of all ages, driving cars that should not be as well.  I'd rather put more rules and restrictions on them.  The bikers I know, know when to get off the road and not ride anymore.

  19. I'd by far trust a rider over 50 than one under 25.

  20. Yeah, they can give us free flashing lights and make it mandatory for idiots to get out of our way.
