If I get into NYU, do you think it would be a good idea to get a motorcycle?

Will I need to wear lots of gear?

Is it safe to drive in the City?

Will parking be cheaper than car parking?

  1. write a will if you plan on driveing in nyc

  2. same price as car if they let you in,some wont. driving in urban area very dangerous, dress for the crash not the ride . an good rider in down town traffic gets hairy,a new rider good luck i dont recommend it,bike insurance for a young rider parking outdoors in the city is probably going to break the deal get some quotes

  3. You will not save money on the daily rental of a motorcycle, however, you may make up the difference in parking. Tough call???

Wear a helmet! NY drivers are crazy. Rented a Harley at the airport and drove sight-seeing for about 3 hours before returning it. I am an experienced rider and it got the best of me. I surrendered!!!

  4. No, it is a bad idea.

Don't get me wrong, I ride too, and I love riding my bike. But I also grew up in NYC. You will have a much easier time getting around using the Subway.

If you do ride, you will need gear, but the traffic, the cabs, and the congestion doesn't make riding any easier. I don't think there are many parking concessions for bikes either. Buy a Metrocard that will get you on the subway and a bicycle if you really need to have something.
