my friends motorcycle had oil coming out of carburetor when he stopped riding the other day, the engine temp was cool. he had very little oil left in the oil bag. i think his oil pump failed and the pressure relief valve stuck causing oil to flow through the rockers but not back to the oil bag. any ideas?

  1. Got to be an HD, or do you just want us to guess?

    They aren't all the same.

  2. My idea would be to pull a head and check the oil passages.

Oil should drain down to be pumped out of the motor.

It seems to be getting pumped in. That doesn't totally rule out a bad pump, but...

  3. Is there a chance he filled the oil tank too full???... you can create a sumping problem where oil is pulled back into the motor... HD's vent into the carb and into the tank.. if they can't vent into the tank... well you do the math.

  4. it could be a worn out oil seal or gasket, maybe a s***w might be loose...go check with the mechanic if ya not sure of whut to do...
