Motorcycle leathers?

just wondering are motorcycle leathers,especially leather trousers still in fashion.i like wearing leather for the crash protection factor and i feel safe.whats other peoples thoughts.

Unless you a mega and can afford Kangaroo leather, the best leather in the world is still cow/ bull.

You will find that most "fashion" gear hold little protection in a crash, as its not fitted with armour.

I used to run my own bike shop with a massive clothing section, my moto was very simple: Buy cheap, buy twice.

Leathers (if not to bad) can be repaired to live another day.

I had a few quid in that job, and got a B.K.S ( http://www.bksleather.co.uk ) suit  tailor made.

I have crashed in it 4 times, only once at 100mph at Donnington Park, and the suit was repaired and re conditioned to brand new! It was alot of money (£1475) but its was worth it as I never even broke a bone in any of them crash's.

Try that with a £299 suit!

It is very important to wear m/cycle leathers at all times,whilst indulging in your passion. Make sure the leathers are double stitched and can incorporate body armour.By having the best rider protection it gives you confidence and a good feeling which are paramount for m/cycle riding.

Leather is your best bet for protection, who cares what anybody else thinks?  If you want to go for high fashion, go out an get a Dainese catalog.  Them Italians seem pretty up to speed when it comes to fashion.  Cowhide is what you'll normally find, but kangaroo leather is coming into fashion, especially for racing.  It's four times as strong, half the weight, and is in fact cheaper to use than regular cowhide because it's readily available in Australia.  The kangaroo is essentially viewed as a nuisance, like deer here in the States.  There are actually a bunch of little leather shops popping up in Sydney due to this new demand.  Here is some guy talking about World Champ Casey Stoner's suit.

The reason his is so expensive is because it's a custom cut.
