  1. take the written test at dmv.  go to msf take the weekend class & they'll waive your riding test at the dmv.  It's easy but long 2 days of riding.  I just finished the class last saturday.  don't take the riding test at dmv, you'll fail for sure.

  2. you have to pass both a written test as well as a basic skills test on a motorcycle in order to get a motorcycle license ,by only taking a written test you will get a permit ,go through the MSF course and they give you a basic skills test and a written test after passing the MSF course you get a certificate that you take to DMV and you'll receive an  M/1 endorsement on your drivers license

  3. In California you need to do a written and skill test. They want to make sure you can maneuver and be safe on the dangerous streets.

Know the rules of the roads you are going to be riding on and how to avoid motorists that are talking on their cell phone.

Be prepared. It is for your own good.

    Good luck and get insurance.

  4. You have to do a performance test too. They have a course set up usuall in the back of the DMV parking lot. If your worried about passing it just go there after hours and practice. Its pretty easy. They just want to see if you know how to ride and are in control of your machine. Its easy. :)
