I was just wondering becuase bikes are where I plan on heading as a career and I'm in the process of finishing college for automechanics. I know that alot of bikes still use carbs. but assuming that there are fuel injected bikes (I can't see how there woulden't be) are there any bikes with a Mass Air Flow system

  1. Kawasaki's first fuel injected bikes did, the 1979-80 Classic and the first couple of years of GPZ 1100 (81-82).  They went to digital injection in 1983.

  2. many new bikes newer than 2004 have a similar closed loop system like a car including a IAC, TPS and O2 sensors

there are federal regulations to lower emissions in 2004 and more strict in regulations in 2007

that's why some of the newer FI bikes have the fuel leaned out, (to meet the lower emissions) so much there are complaints of dead throttle spots at certain rpm's,

  3. most bikes are injected today if not all they use what's known as a lamda circut

you should be familiar with that term

    they don'tuse a Maf

  4. all modern sport bikes have a maf system
