How much would it be for a plain black paint job to get done on a standard say Gsxr 750 sized bike. I just want an estimate, I dont mean the $$$$$ paint jobs the affordable ones that will not flake off. No custom work.

  1. You can do it yourself but you gotta do it right or it will look like c**p on a bent stick. take the plastics off. Hang the from garage rafters or cloths line, in a dust free area. Sand and prime them and let hang a day. Then put first coat on in even strokes. Don't just shake the can and go spray happy like it's graffiti. Let hang another day then add second coat. let hang another day. If you like the way it looks now you can clear it or add another coat. make sure you have plenty of light so you can see well. When the paint looks even toned and well laid, clear coat it and let it hang for the last day. Then you can add your graphics and wax it real good.

What you could do is find a fender bender fixer who is looking to make a buck on the side. He'd paint 3 or 4 pieces of plastic in no time for next to nothing.

  2. If you remove your tank ,fenders and other parts to be painted and take them to an inexpensive shop, I'd guess in the neighborhood of $400 will get you a decent ,single stage enamel paint job.

  3. you can do it yourself for $50 (buy a case of black paint from an automotive shop)

or you can go professional that ranges from $400  - $3000

  4. About $300-$400.  I used to paint cars for a living and  I can get a bike ready to paint pretty quick.

  5. buy a can of primer for $10

    sandpaper for $2

    and top coat for $13

    all up $25~!
