Motorcycle radiator cap location?

I have a 1992 FZR 1000 and it has a leak from the radiator ..where do i add fluid i cant seem to find the cap? I have only had this bike for about a week?

  1. Honestly. Spend the 20 or 30 bucks and get an aftermarket service manual. All your questions for routine maintenance will be answered and it will save you allot of grief.


  2. It's usually on the right side behind the upper fairing. If you turned the bars all the way to the right, it would be right under the hand grip. You have to remove the upper fairing to get at it.

  3. Usually you will have to take the fearing off to get to it but the are usually right up near the top of the engine (head). Though on a motorcycle you should never open this you should fill it frm the overflow bottle. However if its majorly leaking and you find it best to fill from the cap this means its leaking too much to ride it!! Don't risk riding a bike with a leaking radiator they get hot quick and before you know it, head gasket will blow. Just be careful id suggest maybe getting your local motorcycle dealer to maybe get the radiator patched for you. Hope this helps.
