Motorcycle ride around Panay island.?

What is your opinion about riding a motorcycle to cruise around Panay covering the provinces of Capiz, Aklan, Antique and Iloilo?

How's the peace and order situation? Are there ample lodging houses or hotels along the way? What are the places to avoid aside from the obvious?

For info, I'l be taking the main roads only.

Thank you.

  1. Should not be a problem. Outside the cities it moght be a little tough finding a pensione house to stay.

  2. if you stick to the main roads you'd be okay. biking is safe. make sure you wear protective helmet and ride only during the day and under good weather conditions. yea there'll be lodging facilities along the way but better to plot your course before you take actual journey.

  3. It's quite safe.  Many people have already done motorcycle adventures in the island (as I read before in magazines).  The roads now are better and more accessible.

For the peace and order, it's okay as long as you stay along the main roads.  People are friendly and accommodating in the entire island.

Iloilo has many lodging houses, especially in the city.  There are not too many of these though in far-flung areas so be very sure to stay within the province's main municipalities.

Here's something I found online from a biker who has toured the island:
