  1. I used to stick mine on either the foot pedal bracket (rear) or on the front mudguard bracket

  2. What ever you do don't fit to anything vital, like a front brake bracket, for example. From personal experience I can tell you that when thieves steal it they don't replace the bolt, the other bolt will work itself loose, the brake will rotate and jam against the disc and the whole bike will rotate around the front axle.

  3. kerb side used to be  before the engine mine is at the rear foot peg hanger on 2 bikes one has it on the front headlamp bkt as un faired

  4. On left hand side of bike, I usually put it on rear foot-peg bracket or chain guard. I also buy a cheap disc holder and glue everything together so if they do nick it they'll have to destroy the disc to use it out of the holder. Doesn't stop them nicking it, but at least it limits what they can do with it.

  5. The Tax Disc should be mounted on the left hand side of the machine and contrary to a previous answer it is a offence not to display your Tax Disc.

  6. Rear chain guard bracket

  7. Should be mounted in a safe position on the nearside (left) of the bike so that the police can easily see it

  8. Don't.

I've never left a tax disc attached to the bike, it's just asking to be nicked.

The police won't bother you, they're only interested in untaxed vehicles, and a PNC check will show that it's taxed.

I've been stopped once without a tax disc, and the officer just checked via his control that the bike was taxed & let me carry on, although it's a good idea to carry the tax disc with you while you're out riding.

  9. Acording to some police officers I have spoke to although you technicaly should display it they never bother charging bikers with "failure to display" as long as they have the disc with them.

Worst case if you did get prosecuted for it is a fine, no points on your license.

  10. I put mine inside the screen using the sticky tax holder you use on your car windscreen.

This suits me as my bike is never left unattended...bad idea otherwise.

  11. by law there supposed to be fitted anywhere on the kirb side of the bike
