  1. Look at it this way....for example.

    I never rode a motorcycle or dirtbike.  I took a 3 day MFS rider course and was riding a brand new Harley Sportster 883C right after getting my license.

    6 months after that, I traded in the 883C for a Kawasaki ZX6R 600cc supersport bike.  I hadn't had any problems with handling any of the motorcycles I have rode.

    That's my experience.   Obviously, I'm not an idiot because I was able to maturely handle motorcyles above 500cc immediately after getting my license and guess what.... I'm still alive.

    It all depends on the rider.  There's  no more I can say.

  2. Well, I didnt' start off with a 250 or a 500cc. My first bike (which i just bought a little over a month ago) is a 2008 gsxr 750. You just have to be careful and anticipate other's drivers next moves before they even do it. You don't have to ride a 250cc. My cousins and uncle started off with the gsxr 1000 (also 2008) so it depends. Just be careful when you ride and always give yourself extra space around other cars. And just to let you know, if you ride a 250, you'll probably get bored of it within a couple of weeks and would want to upgrade so you should think about it before you buy one. good luck

  3. you'll think differently, ride the 250 at motorcycle safety course, then see how you feel.

  4. no one can tell you,...''do this/that and your skilled''...now go buy a bussa.....it all comes down to experience,..us bikers get a 6th sense when it comes to riding...your going along the road and you ''know'' that waggon is going to pull out,so you expect it...all ways expect the unexpected and you ll live another day....

    skilled=exsperiance...bottom line.

  5. Get something light so you can pick it up if you drop it, newer the better, will be easier to ride, people buy big bikes and think they are fast, then out ride themselves and hurt themselves. Ride within your limits, ALWAYS! treat everyone else on the road like they are going to do the wrong thing, find other people to ride with you will learn lots, be patient it will eventually become second nature, no one will look down at you for learning on a smaller bike, we all where learning at one stage or another, you will learn to read the road, wet leaves, white lines, man hole covers and so on. You will know when its time to trade up, be careful and have fun, nothing compares to it.
