Motorcyclist in Wiltshire is jailed for 15 months for doing 144mph on an A road

The fastest recorded speed on an A road in the UK. Is the 44 male perpetrator a heroic adrenaline junkie or a menace to society. Your opinions would be nice.

I would have given him 15 years.  If he wants to race,  do it on a race track.  He easily could have killed somebody by cutting them off or caused and accident.

I think he deserves to be in prison!

Speed limits are there for a reason, If he cant obey the law and risks peoples lives in the process then he deserves what he got!

Obviously he doesnt give a toss about his own well being but he could have caused a serious accident!

I dont think its a record he wants to be impressed with! maybe he will think twice next time before he decides to disregard the law!

I can see the attraction from motorbikes and the temptation to put your foot down

plenty of people do it, I guess he's lucky not to have hurt himself or anyone else for that matter

I think the sentence is about right considering he didn't hurt anyone.

Other people do get less time for more serious offences though. Eg when kids steal cars, drive them like crazy away from the Police, crash and write off the car....

...and get a community order for the 40th time.

That does p*ss me off, especially as I get more punishment for overfilling my bin!

He did not get long enough!!

The speed was beyond dangerous, he refused to stop and caused the use of forty police cars and a helicopter, not just to stop him speeding but in the hope they could prevent him killing someone.

The maniac did far worse than someone taking indiscriminate pot shots with a high powered rifle!!

Surely such maniacs as this should be banned from driving for life!!!

We have these azzholes screaming all over our highways and the fatalities are frequent...they pass you and scare the schitt out of you and are a menace to the highways...

15 months is a rather short penalty over the penalty of eternity in killing yourself or someone else...

One a*****e bike doing over 100 MPH on US 19 north in Palm Harbor Florida during midday rush hour collided with a van that pulled out and it killed the van driver as well as the idiot bike rider...

You cannot expect all traffic to compensate for a motorcycle going almost 3 times the speed limit during rush hour....it was an idiotic stunt that cost more then the life of the idiot on the bike...

If you want to do that speed demon c**p, wait till 3 or 4 am and go out on the interstate and give it a go... but don't do this in ruch hour traffic on a busy highway...

Oh and the ones that ride wheelies at 100MPH... Jeeeezus H Fricking Christ... don't fall where I have to witness it, I will not do anything for you beyond call for help... your on your own....
