I am looking to get a motorcycle in nj and was wondering if I have a regular driver's license do i still need to get a motorcycle license? I know it doesn't cost a lot but I was just wondering.

in ny you need a permit first, they recommend u take a MSF Basic Rider Course.  this waives ur actual driving test but u still need the written.  most other states should have a similar policy.

yes you do...

option 1: take a rider's course, it'll exempt you from road test at dmv...you'll only take the simple computer/written test

option 2: take your bike to dmv, take the road test & computer/written test

yeah i have my motorcycle license in NJ,  all you have to do is take a class and you get one if you pass.  you can pay for the class all year around, or the bov't offers a couple of free ones, but you may have to drive for that.  but u need the M endorsment to ride a motorcycle in NJ

well, it depends...

if you're only planning on riding on secondary roads, and only during the day with no passengers, you can get by with just a motorcycle permit...

For sure in Arizona you need a drivers license (auto) and a motorcycle endorsement ( applied to the back of your auto license ). Go to motor vehicle and take the written test for motorcycle. Mostly women do better on this because they actually read the provided information first, then take the test. Guys blow the first test the read then pass. It kind of a rhythm thing. Then, borrow the smallest bike you can find that fits you, I mean a 100cc if you can find one. Passing Arizonas practicle is a real test and, on an ST1100 I failed. So, go to any recognized basic motorcyele safety class (20 hours). When you pass this they will award you your complete endorsement and you are finished.

In Arizona you msut have the State written test passed first then go to the safety course. It is a lot of fun, you learn a ton of practicel information, develop safety habits and really learn to handle a small bike. The bikes are provided btw.  Have fun, buy a helmet. You will need boots gloves helmet and a jacjet to take the safety course.
