  1. Best way is by car !

  2. We went by ferry, Plymouth to Roscoff and drove to Audierne where we stayed in a beautiful house (The Rue Kleiber one but we also visited the other one and that is fantastic too). The link to the website is below.

  3. sardinia belongs to Italy

  4. Eurotunnel is the easiest and quickest route to France and if you are heading south take the route via Reims, Troyes, Dijon and Lyon to avoid the nightmare which is Paris. If you have no rush on your journey south detour from Dijon to Annecy in the Alps then travel down through Grenoble and Gap on the Route Napoleon to Nice. The most convienient accomodation on the way are Formule1 Hotels and Etap Hotels which are clean and cheap. Never been to Corsica but the trip you have planned is on my to do list. My plan is to rent a villa from Ownersdirect.com which i have alweays found to be reliable. Enjoy your trip.

  5. Rosie, he did say Corsica which is a part of France.

I would take the closest ferry to my home. Depending where that lands in France head toward the main autoroute to the Med in the South.

You can get ferries to Ajaccio From Marsaille,Nice or my choice would be Toulon where the city is smaller and you will have less trouble finding your way around. (not that it is a small city) The ferries go across from 5-8 time a week depending on where you leave from.

  6. Take the nearest port to your home.

That way, the holiday starts sooner when on foriegn soil!

Brittany Ferries are quicker and cleaner than P&O, and usually cheaper.

Quickest crossing is Dover - Calais for speed, others vary upto an overnight slow boat!

  7. best rates from Marseille or Nice to Corsica on "la mediteraneene ferries"

From bastia, all the way round to south Bonifacio, then Ajaccio. i suggest if you wherever consciously loose your self in Corsica.. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND IN THE WORLD. absolutly no contest here. try to make it happen before, after summer.

kept secret : the road from Porto-vecchio to Bonifacio and the beaches " Santa Julia " and "la Rondinara "
