  1. Most places in the world require a motorised bicycle to be limited on power or speed (or both). Some places also require that the motor can only operate while the cranks are turning. (Not that common.)  There are also restrictions that only allow electric motors.

    The upshot is that most motor assisted bikes will only, LEGALLY, work to around 20mph (32km/h). A basic bolt on kit will start around $200 (plus bike). You can pay many thousands for top of the line stuff.

    Most moderately trained cyclists can achieve average speeds close to or in excess of  20 Mph (32km/h). This is why I would encourage any able bodied person to try cycling in its purest form. Range and speed are only limited by determination. A standard bicycle is a true freedom machine.


  2. Why would you want a gas fed "bike?" Do yourself a favor and buy a bicycle- a completely fuel efficient "vehicle" that also does not pollute the environment.

  3. About 15 to 18 miles per hour on a full charge, depending on your weight.  Mine was about $375.00
