Motorola SBG900 modem problems, wont connect! please help!!?

I've got my HP laptop connected to my motorola SBG900 modem, the power and receive lights come on but the send light blinks and the online light doesn't come on. What should I do? I've called Comcast and they're gonna send some guy to check it out. Its connected to the cable and everything. Help would be appreciated!

For a test take the 2 way splitter out and plug the modem directly in to the cable line.

When the modem is connected and TALKING to the cable system (Return Path) you should have all the lights solid except the PC activity light which will flash.

Also make sure the cable end that plugs into the modem is not damaged and in good condition.

If the after you get the receive and send lights on but the on-line light continues to flash call the cable system and insure they have the correct MAC address for your modem.
