I have a Moultrie D40 Trail Camera. I've read online some people have used a 12 volt power supply.

Does anybody know the polarity on the external 12 volt power supply?

I am looking to make my own power cables but I am not sure if the male connector in the camera is positive or negative.

I decided to make it because I purchased a connector from Cabelas but it didn't fit my model as it stated online, I would like to just purchase one, but doesn't look like its possible.

Any information or suggestions is appreciated!

  1. Center is standard for positive pin

  2. I went to Moultrie and had them provide a schematic of my cameras. From there I put rechargeable batteries and a solar panel on the camera. I went online and called their customer service number to get the drawings. I have some other cameras that I went into and just added rechargeable batteries to and ran the wires from a solar panel up into the camera on the battery connections and use it as a trickle charger. All I have to do then is swap out the SD cards when I check them.
