Question:

Mount/Install a home stereo system into my Car?

I have a Zenith 400 Watt RMS stereo system I was considering mounting into my car. I have a 800 Watt DC to AC inverter. Also I already have 2 500 Watt subs w/1000 watt amplifier installed in my car. Now my amp has output RCA jacks. I was going to run an RCA line from my amp. to my stereo then use the inverter to power it. Does this sound like a good idea to do, or if I'm not doing something correctly someone want to give me some advice? Also I have a heavy duty battery which I just bought, but my alternator is stock, would this put too much strain on my alternator? Thanks

  1. the inverter should be enough to power it, the alternator will likely be strained running the inverter all the time, and you may get some buzzing in the speakers due to using a/c power from the stereo.  I'd stick to automotive audio equipment but be your own man.
