Mount st. helens??? essay for school , help!?

my essay question is "use mount saint helens to support the biblical flood"

so i need to know how the eruption effected the land around it and how that supports the flood

im very stressed and confused

A geological event such as Mt St Helens is too small to cause an Extinction Life Event such as the biblical flood.

You want an event such as global warming melting continental ice sheets in one season or an asteroid strike that creates the Gulf of Mexico or Hudson's Bay.

I don't blame you. I lived in the area before, during and after the eruption and I don't see any similarities. The eruption wasn't really devastating, either, except for those on the mountain itself, so I don't know what the big deal was. Ash fell lightly on surrounding areas for miles, but that was the only difference from the every day life.

Unless the teacher wants you to discuss how the pyroclastic flow caused a massive flood of the area and flattened trees, Mt St helens in and of itself cannot support the Biblical flood, because you have to look at the fossil record to show that
