I have 26 x 1.9 tires and have been given a few new boxes of 24 x 1.5/1.7 tubes. Are they compatible or should i save them to trade for tubes that match my tire size?

  1. it wont really work for to long eventually the tube will get pinched betweens the rum and the ground because its to small soo i would get the right size

  2. No you must use 26 inch tyres

  3. I'd trade them in.  If you were in an emergency pinch (no pun intended), you could make one of them work, but otherwise I wouldn't fool with them.  Being appreciably smaller than the correct size, you'd have to stretch them around the rim to mount them....that's fine, but then it could cause problems with seating the tire beads in the rim when you try to inflate the tire, or it could even cause some pinching (holes in the tube) if you aren't careful with the tire levers.   Also, the rubber will be stretched pretty thin and will bleed down faster than normal.

  4. I have 26 x 1.95 tires; it uses 26 x 1.9-2.2 tubes.

24" are too small around for a 26" tire.  Trade the tubes to match the 26" tire size.
