Mountain Bikes and lightweight small rear suspension?

Anyone know of a mountain bike frame with around a inch of travel, like a really simple small light weight supension frame not like the downhill complex heavy rear frames?

Do you want a full suspension bike (FS) or a soft tail? A FS bike is for cross country trail riding and a soft tail is for road use.

I have no opinion on FS bikes with 1-2" of travel since they are too heavy for the benefit, but I really like KHS for soft tails.
