Mountain Board vs Freebord, to get good at freestyle snowboarding, READ BELOW?

I want to get a board for the summer to ride that would be good, to get really good at freestyle for snowboarding, basically which one of the boards would get you good at freestyle snowboarding when the winter comes, I basically want one for jumps, which one

  1. i have a freeboard. i really like it. i think it would work way better than a mountain board in your case. It will take you a while to get used to riding it and to learn to carve well even if your really good at snowboarding but once you do it's really fun.


  2. Honestly, if you're going to use it for summer practice you dont want to buy a nice board. Pick up a used idiom or blunt or something online and use that to beat up on through the summer while you're learning and then pick up a "real" board before the winter.

    Whatever board you get now will probably be pretty well beat after a summer of practice so keep that in mind.

  3. Freebord.

    I don't think a mountain board is really meant to spin like a board's p-tex base.  A Freebord has two extra wheels that act like a base.

    And if you underrotate and land perpendicular to the jump, you'll eat it just like if you caught an edge!

    I think a mountain board would be better for just going fast off-road.
