Mountain bike, Carry people?

Hey

I know you cant effectively fit pegs on mountain bikes. So that ways out. Any ideas how to carry a passenger on the back?

Please dont tell me how dangerous it is :-) I know it is

  1. It can carry only one person at the back but not a heavy fat guy. I installed a wire framed carrier as a seat at the back & custom built a foot rest. I welded a tube with a nut to fit at the protruding s***w (made it longer) at the back wheel & solved your question like I had before. I inflated more air at the back wheel for extra carrying weight.

  2. When we were kids sometimes we would sit on the handlebar while someone else was pedaling and steering. Another way we used to ride was with one person sitting on the seat and another person doing all the work of pedaling and steering while standing. You could set up a rack on the back wheel many mountain bikes have the eyelets to let you affix a rack

  3. You'll get a ticket for it in this area. You'll have to replace the quick release with bolts, it's that simple.

  4. You can't carry passengers on the back of a bike. Sorry.
