try searching your local bike stores for a specialized P.2. i have one and the thing is a freakin beast and a half, i got it for like 625 i think.

When you buy your bike you should definitely get a good lock.  Some great ones are at A&J's.  Their website is http://www.bike-locks.com and they're super helpful and friendly!

at mtbr.com you can search mtbs and sort by price. read the reviews, then test ride 'em at your local shop

I just bought a hardtail mountain bike for $560.00. I bought the Giant Yukon. Wow. It is the best bike for the price definately. I would go check it out. Trust me on this one.
