i was thinking on buying a full suspension mountain bike but i did research on them and they required alot of maintenance and in order to find a good one you would need to spend more than 300 dollars to you get a good one. I also read that you can get a good hardtail (front suspension only) for the same amount of getting a cheep full suspension. i was wondering how much should i spend on a good hardtail and included two pics of mountain bikes below. one of them is full and the other is front. plz someone tell me if they are good.

  1. dont buy either of those two bikes.  junk, junk, junk.  go to a bike shop.  first bike? go hardtail.

  2. Don't buy a full sus bike yet you link to one, why ?  You already know its bad. I wouldn't get the other one either. Go to a bike shop and look at some good bikes.  A good FS bike will run you $900 on up, but you can get a hard tail for 250-500..

  3. I don't think either will last too long on a real trail, but if you're just going to use it to commute here and there, you might be alright for a little while. These department store bikes are known for being unreliable although some look pretty good. If i had to choose one of the two, I'd take the hardtail, but thats only if those were my only two choices. Buy a used better made, more reliable bike.
