Mounting camera on Fotomate Tripod

Question

Hi,I have bought a Foromate Tripod.The s***w with threads on the top is where i am supposed to fix the camera. However, when i load the camera on top of it and rotate it, it never comes to a perfect fit. The s***w otherwise is also loose. Is it a problem with the tripod?SOS!
