Mountjoy Orion and Razldazl Pru all set for the finale of Champions Night Marathon
On the 29th of August, two Heats were scheduled for the Champions Night Marathon. Razldazl Pru was the fastest one to cover the 750 meters distance.
Trainer K J Findlay’s Razldazl Pru, with an exceptional performance, gave a hit in the Champions Night Marathon's Heat 2. Racing through trap 1, she railed across the track and led herself through five contenders in the Heat.
In the same stadium, Ramford, the black b***h, previously had a success in Gala Coral Maiden Marathon and finishing first in the Champions Night Marathon's Heat 2 not only made her win a purse of £200, but she has also qualified for the finals of the Champion
Night Marathon.
The daughter of Head Bound out of Dear Prudence, Razldazl Pru, covered the 750 meter distance in less than a second short of 48 minutes.
Capel Yankee, a brindle dog, came second in Heat 2. The four-year-old had a slow start from trap 2.
While he was few lengths closer to the wire, trainer A B Gifkin’s hound greased his elbows, but it was too late for that. He reached the wire a second later than Razldazl Pru, his total estimated time is 48 minutes.
Along with Razldazl, the lucky one who got qualified for the Champions Night Marathon Final was Mountjoy Orion.
The two-year-old had the race in his hand from the beginning as his chase from trap 4 had a swift start.
As he streamed through his five challengers, he eventually came at the leading position and gave a superb hit for trainer, M A Wallis.
Six days earlier, Mountjoy Orion was declared the winner of the 700 meters race, the Mildenhall 700, held at Mildenhall.
The son of Ballymac Maeve out of Star Of Dromin, Mountjoy Orion’s recorded time for the Champion Night Marathon's Heat 1 was 48 minutes and 30 seconds.
Nice N Furry, trained by P W Young, reached the finish line 2 seconds after Mountjoy Orion.
The three-year-old brindle b***h made the situation worse for herself by giving a slow start.
Her chase for the purse started from trap 5 and with a gradual run, she railed through the track, but as she came near the wire, she boosted up her energy and ran with immense speed.
Although this hard work did not work out, she finished second, covering the path in 48 minutes and 28 seconds.
The qualifiers of the Champions Night Marathon Heats will be running for the purse of £1,000 in the finals. The race will be held at the same venue, Ramford, on the 7th of September, 2011.
