The defending champions, Real Madrid, are travelling to Levante this weekend and they will be without some of their key strikers.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 didn’t take part in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League match with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night. The striker pulled his hamstring when he was training with the club on Monday.
It is confirmed that Higuain will also not take part in the weekend match against Levante as he also sustained a muscle injury in the Dortmund clash.
Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho, believes this crisis could have been avoided. He admitted that he didn’t expect to lose Benzema as he planned to use him in the game. However, he takes responsibility for the injuries.
“It’s my fault because [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-c5280] Morata played 90 minutes with the Castilla. Benzema was one I did not expect to lose because I was going to start him and Higuain would only have been on the bench.”
“Gonzalo at 30 minutes was not able to continue either. I had been asked if Morata could play against Huesca as Jese was suspended and I told him to play. This was my mistake. Benzema and Higuain will not be available for Sunday.”
Meanwhile, the Portuguese coach is left with no alternative but to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 as a full striker in the upcoming Primera Division match.
It has been Reported that while the former Manchester United star will be used in that position against Levante, the 20-year-old Alvaro Morata will be on the bench for Los Blancos.
This is not the first time Ronaldo will feature in this position. He played in that position when Real Madrid played the Clasico game in April 2011.
That change of tactic led the Real star to disagree with his boss. Although it is clear he doesn’t like to play in that position, regardless he believes that he has no choice but to adapt to the situation and do what his coach asks him to do.
“I don’t like to play like that but I have to adapt to what he [Mourinho] asks,” said http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 afterwards.
This current shortage in the strike force will not help Real Madrid as they are still eight points behind their bitter rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
