The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Spanish Football Federation announced that bans on Jose Mourinho and Tito Vilanova will be lifted while that imposed on Dani Benitez remains in place.
RFEF president, Angel Maria Villar, looked at applications set forward by clubs against sanctions imposed on their personnel. Among those who favoured from the good nature of Villar were Jose Mourinho and Tito Vilanova, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-c9867 Benitez’s ban is set to continue.
Pardons granted by Villar supersede that imposed by the Competition Committee within the framework of his authority. It was revealed that the president can give grace pardons if those in question do not have penalties more than four games.
As a result, Mourinho and Tito Vilanova’s requests were heard, while those made on the behalf of Dani Benitez were overlooked as they did not appear in the jurisdiction of the RFEF President.
While the managers enjoy pardons, Benitez’s assault on the referee also excluded him from receiving any favours from Villar and will have to complete his three month ban for launching a half-litre bottle that nearly hit referee Clos Gomez Aragon.
Actions of Villar have earned a mixed response from those involved with the affairs of Spanish top flight football. Emilio Butragueno was pleased with the announcement while Toni Freixa lashed out at the decision.
"A pardon does not make the innocent at fault in any case, if you get the feeling that you can continue doing it,” Freixa remarked. "It's a bad example for football."
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 president, Joan Laporta, echoed the sentiments shown by the Catalan spokesman and held Mourinho as the sole culprit in the whole situation. Laporta openly criticised the actions of Angel Maria Villar and questioned the logic behind them.
"It is clear to me that Mourinho is the assailant, but the rules say that there may be a pardon, and we must respect them," Laporta told Catalunya Radio.
"Mourinho acted with premeditation, his aggression was from behind. It is a completely improper and ridiculous action.”
"Only Mourinho should have been punished, because Tito's reaction is normal when someone is trying to hurt you from behind."
