Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho, has backed the Portuguese skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629, to win the Ballon d’Or award because of the silverware he has won last season.
There have been many different candidates to win the Ballon d’Or award this season, but the two strikers, Cristiano Ronaldo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, stand out amongst all of them.
Both the players have scored in abundance during the past season and that is the reason why they are considered to be the best players in the world.
While Lionel Messi has won the individual honour three times in a row, Cristiano http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 also won it back in 2008. However, this season the two are battling each other out once again, and many are indecisive as to who should take the individual honour home.
There have been different players saying different things about the prestigious award.
Many suggest Lionel Messi should win it, while others suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo should. Moreover, there are people who think that the Real Madrid shot-stopper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815 should win it, after he led the Spanish national team to Euro 2012 glory, conceding
only one goal in the process.
While speaking about the Ballon d’Or award, Jose Mourinho gave his point of view about the prestigious honour and the Portuguese mentor was of the opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo should win it.
Mourinho was quite clear on his views regarding the winner of the Ballon d’Or award. The Portuguese mentor said that the award goes to whoever has won more silverware and has been phenomenal as an individual; therefore, he thinks that Ronaldo winning the
Spanish La Liga is better than what Lionel Messi won last season and hence the award should go to the Portuguese skipper.
While speaking about the individual honour, Jose Mourinho said:
"For me, the best player of a season must be one that won. What [Ronaldo] did helped the team to win something big, and I do not think in the history of the Ballon D'Or, one players own it without winning a big thing.”
"Without winning the Champions League, without winning the Spanish League, how can Messi be the Ballon d'Or?"
At the end of the day, the battle is going to be between these two football stars, as they are a bit better than all the other football players in the world.
