Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema revealed that Coach Jose Mourinho has played a vital role in helping him improve as a player. He also claimed that he is a better player now than he was when he played for Olympique Lyon.

The striker said that he is improving with every game and that more hard work will lead to better performances and more goals.
"I feel good both physically and inside my head. I feel I am improving game after game. I will continue working hard and continue to try to score goals," Benzema said in an interview.

The Frenchman added that Mourinho was responsible for his good form this season because of the confidence and determination he gives him.
The striker was also delighted with his recent performances and hopeful to carry on the goal scoring form. He said that Madrid is a very good team and can definitely challenge for trophies.
"This is a great team and I will continue putting forth my best effort for it. I feel great alongside Adebayor and I hope to play with him in the next match. Jose Mourinho has been working with me a lot; and also in the mental aspect. I am doing well on the pitch, which is good news for all of us," said the striker.
Karim Benzema joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 from French club Olympique Lyon for an estimated fee of 35-million Euros. The Frenchman had a disappointing first season with the Los Blancos and was able to score only nine goals.
Benzema has looked a better player under Jose Mourinho and has scored 17 goals already this season and is the club’s second highest goal scorer. The former Lyon striker has scored six goals in the last five matches played in all competitions.
