The Portuguese manager is reminding everyone that Carvalho has no place in Real Madrid at the current moment, and it would be best for him to leave.
The 34-year-old had several chances to make a transfer this season. Offers from Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, Galatasaray and AC Milan were made. However, none of them were actually capitalized and an agreement wasn't reached. As a result, the Portuguese defender
stayed where he was.
While the Portuguese player is showing his loyalty to his club by staying at the Bernabeu, his position in the club has not changed, and team manager Jose Mourinho has been very clear as to the fact the experienced defender is not part of any plans.
Mourinho stated that it would do his career no good to stay at the club, and that by staying at Madrid, Carvalho has already ended his career.
The manager has also stated that the reason as to why Carvalho is not part of his team plans is because they already have other players in central defence and thus Carvalho is not needed.
“Ricardo is not part of our plans because we have four central defenders,” said Mourinho.
However, Mourinho stated that the terms of Carvalho’s contract have to be, and are, honoured.
“He is still here and he still has a contract and that contract must be respected,” stated the Portuguese manager.
Mourinho also stated that by staying at Real Madrid, Carvalho will practically end his career.
“Several clubs have tried to acquire him. It is up to Ricardo. He can stay here and serve out his contract, but then his career is virtually in the past.”
Whether Carvalho chooses to stay at Real Madrid or not is still a mystery, however, by examining Mourinho’s statements it is doubtful whether the club will cancel his contract short of his ending term, in order to allow him to move.
The Real Madrid manager also coached Carvalho during his reign over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC, and knows the player’s style of game-play better than most managers would know of their own players. As a result, it seems as though what Mourinho states have weight to it.
We can only wait and see, as Mourinho stated, “It is up to Ricardo”.
