UEFA passed the Financial Fair Play rules in order to keep clubs from overspending. When asked about the FFP, Jose Mourinho approved of measures put forward by the governing body.

Real Madrid are a very wealthy club and the Financial Fair Play is targeted towards European clubs of repute, Jose Mourinho is in favour of the rules, and states that Madrid will cope with the FFP.
It is meant to stabilize football across the continent, and was possibly put forward because of the increase in number of free-spending clubs like Paris St Germain and Manchester City. UEFA felt the need to forcing clubs in limiting their spending so that
they spend less than what they earn.
Additionally, the European football governing body is also trying to encourage clubs to limit the amount they pay their players.
Irrespective of Santiago Bernabeu based club’s wealth, Jose Mourinho has a good feeling about the FFP. He stated that it will not affect Real Madrid too much, as their heritage will prevent any possible mishaps that could occur due to the measures proposed
by it.
Mourinho remarked that, what Los Blancos have cannot be bought with money, and that their success is through their history. “You can’t buy that with money. The titles, the European Cups, the history, the fan base, you can’t achieve these things just by spending
money.”
He also reminded UEFA and the fans that due to their history, the best players in the world end up playing for the most prestigious clubs, which include Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Mourinho also states that the Santiago Bernabeu based-outfit will be able to cope with said standards put forward because unlike other clubs which may have a lot of wealth, they are already well structured and that is what the FFP is going to be looking
at.
The Portuguese manager claimed that the FFP will be directed towards those clubs that have a lot of money but are poorly structured, and that clubs with a history and heritage like Madrid, Barca and Bayern are going to be among the clubs that can cope with
the change.
“Clubs that live exclusively on the funds of their owners won’t find life so easy, because they don’t have the structure of the historic clubs.... and that is why Financial Fair Play will be good for football,” said Mourinho.
However, the Portuguese tactician refused to condemn football players that sign on with free-spending clubs in search for bigger pay packets.
He brought his example towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 and Witsel’s recent transfer to Zenit St Petersburg for 100 million Euros. He stated that money is still a key factor for a football player, but only to those players who are average earners.
“Money is still important for footballers, but mainly for average earners. If you’re already earning five million Euros every year you’re not going to go somewhere else for five-and-a-half.”
