Retired English legend, Bobby Charlton, has claimed that the success achieved by Jose Mourinho justifies his ‘big mouth’.
The retired veteran heaped praise over the Portuguese mentor; however, he expressed that Mourinho’s ultimate triumph would be pulling a victory over Barcelona.
Charlton pointed out that Jose Mourinho was one of the most successful coaches in the last decade. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international emphasized that the Portuguese mentor is a phenomenal figure in the world of football.
While praising Mourinho, the veteran argued that the mentor’s tendency to make controversial statements is justified by the number of accolades to his name.
Jose Mourinho’s first prominent triumph came when he led the underdogs, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, to a UEFA Champions league victory in 2004. His next adventure came when he joined English Premier League side, Chelsea.
Once again, the Portuguese tactician was able to attain success as he led a very promising Chelsea to their first Barclay’s English Premier League title in almost 50 years. It was at Chelsea that the manager was famously named ‘The Special One’.
After parting ways with the London club in 2007, the mentor went on to join the Italian Serie A outfit, Inter Milan, where he was able to win the a historic treble.
After leading Inter to European triumph, Mourinho became only the third manager in the history of football to have won the Champions League with two different clubs.
However, despite all the success to his name, Bobby Charlton has argued that Mourinho still needs to overcome Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.
While talking to AS, the retired legend stated:
"The entire world is listening when Mourinho starts talking. It's the logical consequence of his success as a coach. He has been extremely successful, and that justifies his heavy wages and big mouth.
“However, we should not forget that although he is doing well with Real Madrid in La Liga right now, they are still not too convincing. Real Madrid might have more points than Barcelona, but the latter are still the team to beat if you want to be the
best.”
The current Spanish Champions, Barcelona, currently trail Real Madrid in the Spanish Primera standings by seven points.
