Moussa Sow attracting interest from Newcastle United and Sunderland
Lille striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and English Premier League clubs Sunderland and Newcastle United are reportedly linked with the striker.
Moussa Sow is Ligue 1’s best striker in the current 2010-11 season and has scored a whopping 17 goals from just 26 matches. The native of Mantes-la-Jolie has also attracted interest from fellow Ligue 1 title contenders Paris Saint-Germain but it is believed
that if the African decides to leave the club, he will probably leave for a club outside of France.
Moreover, Newcastle United and Sunderland are believed to be monitoring Sow’s progress for some time and may make a bid for the 25-year-old striker as soon as the transfer window reopens in June 2011.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international’s contract with Lille will end in the summer of 2013 and it seems that the League leaders will be very reluctant to let go of the striker who has become an integral part of the side that is aiming to lift the trophy after a long
gap of 57 years.
Furthermore, it has been speculated that both English clubs will table an initial offer of 9 million Euros for the striker but it seems that Lille will not be ready to let go of their prized asset for such a low fee and also because he still has 2 more years
left on his contract.
Moussa Sow joined Lille in 2010 from Stade Rennes where he failed to make a major impression but since his transfer, he has become an integral part of his side. His stock has rose in the market largely due to his role in helping Lille maintain their standing
on top of the Ligue 1.
