Swansea City midfielder, Leon Britton believes that a move away from the Liberty Stadium will be a ‘side way step’ and hailed the good playing environment at the club.
The Welsh side have enjoyed a successful return to the Premier League and are currently placed tenth in the table. Earlier, the club beat Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in their league games and so far, they have only lost three games at home. At the moment,
the Swans have 39 points from their 30 league matches and are vying for a place in the Europa League.
Britton mentioned that the Swans were playing better football than most of the other clubs in Premier League and said that he has got no plans of leaving the Liberty Stadium. He thought that a move to any other club other than the top four will be a folly.
“The manager and the lads here are fantastic, the training is great and it’s a good environment to be part of. You would be silly to leave unless it was one of the top four.”, he told.
“I want to stay as long as I can – hopefully for the rest of my career.”
The player from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, who plays as a central midfielder for Swansea, is the most accurate passer of the ball in world football this season. So far, he has completed 1573 out of the 1,688 passes that he has made. His pass accuracy (93.3%) is even better
than the Barcelona’s maverick playmaker, Xavi Hernandez (93.0%) this season.
The Swans boss Brendan Rodgers also acknowledged the importance of the player and termed him as the ‘reference point’ of his side.
In 2010, Britton left the Welsh side to play for Sheffield United. However, his stint with the Blades was not a successful one and he returned to Swansea six months later, after making only 26 appearances for the Blades. He made his return debut for the
Swans in January, 2011.
He admitted that leaving Swansea was a wrong decision.
“It was a bad decision by me to leave, but it hasn’t worked out too badly since I came back.”

“I am delighted that we have agreed the [new] deal. We shook hands on Friday and it is just a case of the club drawing up the paper work and getting the contract signed.” He said.
Swansea are looking to extend the contract of Britton and Scot Sinclair, after other clubs have reportedly expressed their interest in the duo. Britton’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2013.
