  1. From what I am led to believe the £124.99 is the installation charge, but as you say BT will saddle you with a contract, which will cost you extra to get out of.

I have Sky TV and I certainly would not use their phone service, especially as my present phone company is bringing out a Voip service which will allow me to use my broadband service to make calls to any other type of phone, in the States where this service is already operating all calls over the USA and Canada are free.

If I was moving and had to install a new line I would stick with BT until the contract expired, then switch to another supplier, but in the meantime would get the Voip service and make all my calls through it.

If you would like more information feel free to email me.

  2. Your broadband speed will be the same whether on BT or Sky as it is the same network they use. Firstly you need to ask BT if you are still in a contract, if you are you will be charged the remaining rental I am afraid. BT vision is worth getting as the hard drive acts the same as sky plus(pause live TV, tape onto hard-drive, etc).I'd recommend having SKY TV but keeping your line with BT, BT vision could then be installed possibly in a bedroom so you have freeview in their to. If you choose to go to Sky just get it in writing that they will credit the £125 first to prevent any problems in the future.

  3. I have Sky with broadband £19 a month.

  4. You need to weigh up the £125.00 one off cost against the cancelling of your BT Contract, Broadband speed will be about the same regardless of SKY / BTinternet. The channel choice on SKY is much better the BT Vision, but the BT Vision box is free, as are most of the channels and its a good hard disk recorder as well.......

Good luck with your move I hope it goes OK for you.
