Question:

Movement/propulsion question?

I've been wondering this for a while. Say you were standing in a metro/transit bus, such as the one in the link below, and you jumped, releasing hold of any handrails, not touching anything.

While you are in midair, the bus rams another vehicle at a fairly high speed. Are you thrown forward from the impact, just because you are inside the vehicle? Or because you are not touching anything, would you stay where you are, with the bus moving forward around you?

  1. Even while you are in the air, you will still be moving at the speed of the bus. So when the bus hits something (and rapidly slows down), you will be thrown into the front of bus.
