Movie Maker--Can't get the PC to recognize the Sony HD camera. I worked a few months ago. Using a 1394.?

Made a bunch of movies a few months ago using a 1394 connection. IIt worked great. But now, I plug in the cable, hear the "clunk" when the PC seems to recognize the new connection, and then the software (Window Movie Maker) doesn't recognize the camera. Can't figure out what changed
