Movie in the 80's about a robot named Jhonny?

It was released in the late 80's, the main character is a robot named Johnny, lost in new york city, the scientist who created him is indian (i think), The Robot is skinny tall, and using tracks to move. Can anyone help me with the title of this movie? Thanks

Actually, that one you described is "Short Circuit 2". It's the sequel from the first one with Steve Guetenberg.
