Movie like Death Note but not anime?

Question

I want a movie that is like Death Note but is live action. I don't mean the Death Note movie. I want something along the same plot. I'm not talking shinigami and death notes but a game of cat and mouse like Light had with L, Near, and Mello where the answer is right under their noses. Preferably a movie where at least one person is trying to make a better world. I like to relate with the characters and pick sides :)

The closest one I can think of is: Infernal Affairs (a HongKong movie)

There is the aspect of good vs. evil and lot's of intelligent plotting.

I'd rate that movie 11/10.
