hiya guys i having bit of a tech prob here so hope you can help out here,,,,,,

right i have a samsung dvd digital videorecorder and is all good UNTIL i put the disc into my pc and it plays ok so far so good you think hmmmm then i go to use windows vista movia maker and when i drag the video into m/maker it says the dvd is like 28 hours long wen really its just half a hour long !!!!! also i edited it and it took 3 hours to save to my p.c how can i resolve this prob guys many thanks steve

  1. I haven't used the latest version of WMM, but prior to V6 (I think) you couldn't edit DVD footage at all.  I'm *assuming* that the latest version is doing a format conversion before it starts editing, in which case 3 hours for a 30 min video might be the best you can get with your PC.


  2. I wish the camera and pc makers would get their act together and make everything standard, but that would be too easy.

    If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

    You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away
