Movies and music

I have a DS 801 Delstar digital play. When I first started out I downloaded musc and photo's . They worked good. Then I deleted them and tried to download again and they would not work. What am I doing wrong?

Does not play movies but plays music cd's.
it plays only a minute or less than that and then gets stuck if dvds are put in it, but with audio cd it works fine...
