Black Gold
This movie picks up a line that differs from the common formula of horse racing films. As in most films, the main characters of the movie are a boy who has a horse. They find themselves alone and without a caretaker. But as fate would have it, the
pair is adopted by an Indian family, consisting of a man and his wife. The caretaker family also have a mare of their own, which they decide to breed with the boy’s horse. However, the story develops a tragic twist in which the mare is lost to a fraudulent

Hidalgo
This movie stars Viggo Mortenson who plays the role of a Pony Express rider. He, along with his Mustang, take up the opportunity to participate in a 3,300 mile long race. The race takes place in the Arabian desert. Viggo and his Mustang find themselves
up against not only the strange and dangerous desert climate, but they also have to compete with the top of the line Arabian horses.
Secretariat
This movie describes the story of a female horse owner and her struggle through various hardships. As it narrates the life of the horse owner, the movie also makes the audience live through the greatest horse race of this age.
Shergar
This movie tells the tale of a horse named Shergar and is based on actual incidents. The horse in question is a champion racehorse who undergoes dramatic changes in his life. Irish Republic Army (IRA) terrorists try to steal the horse, which they successfully
do so. Eventually, the movie lets a boy become the rescuer of Shergar.
