  1. the first answer is great, just make sure you feed them atleast every four hours if its very long journey, if its shift in same city, what is mentioned in first answer is perfect. just dont forget to cover them, and if possible and if you see them frightened, talk to them in between, or touch them for a while this gives them confidence, no matter what ever happenes you are there to support them. they will feel much better. if they are curious then let them peep from cover for a while that may also excite them and they may also enjoy it. try to read their expressions to both situations.

  2. If you can fit their cage into your car, then by all means, take the whole cage with them in it, the familiar surroundings will be good for them. Maybe empty the food and water dishes out partway so they don't spill all over, but be sure they do have some food and water in case they get hungry/thirsty. If you have them in travel cages, you can keep them near each other for company.

Keep the cage(s) covered with a sheet/blanket/something; not only as a buffer against the sun but to prevent them from being startled by everything going on around them, other cars speeding by and such. If you need to turn the heater or the air conditioning on while they're in the car, make sure it is blowing in a direction as far from them as possible.

Once you've reached your new home, keep them in a quiet room where there's very little activity; even if this isn't the room you intend to keep the cage in, they won't notice the difference if they're still covered, and it will help them not be anxious while you or strange moving men move furniture around. Once it's time to move the furniture into the room they're currently in, you can take them into a different one where the furniture has already been brought in.
