Depending on your NATIONALITY... you may want to check on the requirements for IMMIGRATION to Saint Martin/Maarten before you rent any apartments.

When you are looking for apartmens or houses or condos ANYWHERE in the CARIBBEAN.. you really need to GO THERE for a couple of weeks and look for yourself.  You can also make connections with the local real estate people who can represent you if you have to leave before you find something you like.
