Question:

Moving BlackBerry contacts to SD card?

I want to back up my contacts from my BlackBerry to the micro SD card. Is that possible? I know you can sync them to a computer but storing them on a memory card would just be so much more handy. Thanks!

  1. The best way I can think of is to create a backup for your BlackBerry (.ipd file) with BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Find the file on your computer, and connect your BlackBerry (with the SD card installed) to your computer as a mass storage device. Then just copy the .ipd file to the SD card.

  2. You can export the contacts to a file in comma or tab separated format and then copy it to the memory card.  You can view these type of files from Excel or Notepad, but you would probably need a third part application to access and view it directly from the memory card while installed in the BB.

You can do the export either directly from Outlook, if they are already synched there.
