Moving To Japan which comes first?? passport or nationality/citizenship?

i Really want to go to japan i am learning the langauge currently and i was wondering how to get there i have no clue on what the rules are to get there how to get there how long you can stay there what you need first (nationnality/citizenship or a passport) i have no clue can someone please help me with this and tell me in order how i can get to japan the only way i know is marrige

  1. None what you mentioned. But being fluent in Japanese will help a lot and having a BA degree is up there also.


  2. You need a visa and a passport(an american passport if you're from the US).

    You can get the japanese citizenship at the japanese embassy(or at the nearest japanese consulate), but only if you have a japanese parent and you're under the age of 22.

    To get a visa(not the 3-month tourist one) you have to find a job in Japan, so I'd say you need a 4-year degree at an american university too.

  4. This is the wackiest thing I've heard in a while. Anybody (well, most people) can visit Japan as a tourist. But it seems you want to become a Japanese citizen. Don't you think you ought to visit first before you contemplate something like that. Besides, it's EXTREMELY difficult for a foreigner to gain Japanese citizenship.
